The Egyptian FA called on authorities to change the venue of the home World Cup qualifier against Guinea from Gouna to either Cairo or Alexandria, FilGoal.com has learnt. Gouna Stadium was set by authorities as the home venue for the national team, alongside Egypt's Champions League representatives Ahli and Zamalek , due to the ongoing turmoil in the country. Despite staging a friendly against Uganda at the same venue nearly two weeks ago, the Pharaohs are hoping to hold the upcoming World Cup qualifier at night. It is understood that Cairo's Air Defense Stadium and Alexandria's Army Stadium are the two available options for Egypt. The FA's request to change the floodlight-less venue follows similar attempts by Ahli, whose players had to endure Hurghada's daylight heat in home African games. Bob Bradley's men had already secured a place in the qualifiers playoff round before facing Guinea on September 10.
