Egypt coach Bob Bradley has agreed to drop five Ahli players from next week's friendly match against Uganda, according to the Cairo club's website. Ahli are expected to fly to Congo on August 14 for the Champions League clash against Leopards a few days later, while Egypt host Uganda in Gouna on the same day. After eight of their players had been selected by Egypt, Ahli said they are only willing to release suspended duo Ahmed Fathi and Hossam Ashour, plus unregistered keeper Mosaad Awad. The club's website said that Pharaohs coach Bradley has agreed to leave out skipper Wael Gomaa, Sherif Ekrami, Ahmed Shedid, Rami Rabiea and Mohamed Abou-Treika. The African champs also quoted the American as saying that ‘Ahli's interest is of great importance to him and that he wishes the team good luck in the Champions League'. The comments follow reports that Bradley was hoping to involve the five Ahli players in 45 minutes of the Uganda game. Egypt prepare for their last group game of the World Cup qualifiers against Guinea next month, before taking part in the decisive final round.
