Ahli interim manager Mohamed Youssef is certain that Mohamed Barakat will remain with the club next season as he vows not to let his veteran player end his career this summer. Barakat's future came under major scrutiny this month amid strong suggestions that the 36-year-old is set to announce his retirement. However, Barakat - who has yet to reach an agreement with Ahli over a new deal - dazzled in Friday's 5-1 win over ENPPI, much to the delight of his boss. “I want to show my appreciation to Barakat for his performance against ENPPI. I think he is making history for himself and for Ahli," coach Youssef told Ahli's satellite channel. “He is 36-37 years old yet he is producing top-drawer performances. “I've been talking to him and we will meet again soon...I won't leave him! “I am certain about this; Barakat will stay with Ahli." Barakat said he will make a final decision regarding his future within the next 10 days, which will see Ahli play their last two league games against Gouna and MCDR.
