Ismaili host Al-Ittihad of Alexandria on Sturday in the Egyptian Cup quarterfinals in the Canal city of Ismailia. The Canal-based club have cruised into the quarters after beating Al-Geish 4-0 in Ismailia. The Dervishes are in a better shape as all players put on well during their training Thursday. Saturday's game is not less important, for Ismaili, than Al-Geish. Ismaili's General Trainer Mahmoud Gaber said Saturday's clash would be tough as the opponents are very strong. Ismaili's Ahmed Samir Farag will not participate in the game as he has not fully recovered from injury, according to a medical source at the club on Friday. Farag's teammate Mohamed Hommos will take part in Saturday's game. Ismaili's board consider keeping its goalie Essam el-Hadari and Hosni Abd Rabou, as they are very influential in team. Meanwhile, Harras Al-Hodoud host Arab Contractors on Saturday in the same game in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria. Arab Contractors have qualified for the quarterfinals after beating El-Masri 3-2 in Port Said last week, while Al-Hodoud defeated Ragaa 2-1 last week. In a related news Zamalek consider fining their players after they have been edged out of Egyptian Cup, following their loss to their arch-rivals and league titleholders Al-Ahly in Cairo in the last 16. Zamalek's Hossam Hassan will exclude eight players out of the list. He and his aides will take this decision with the board later on. Zamalek's striker Sherif Ashraf decided to move away from the Cairo club because he 'wasn't given a chance to prove his worth' last season. The 23-year-older, who joined the Whites from their arch-rivals Ahly in 2007, failed to establish himself as a regular starter over the past three years. Coach Hassan usually relies on Ahmed Gafaar as a lone striker and he seldom included Ashraf in the starting eleven. Ashraf's hopes to increase his appearances were also dented after Amr Zaki's return to the Zamalek this summer. "The coaching staff no longer think about playing me," he said. "I have no hope at Zamalek and that's why I will submit a transfer request to the board." Hassan named only one striker in Gafaar for the match. "I didn't get the opportunity to play regularly," Ashraf said. "My appearances were rare but I'm Zamalek's fourth top scorer with a four-goal tally. "I've received many offers from Egyptian and Arab clubs. I wish I could leave by mutual consent." Ashraf, who still has two years on his current contract, was recently approached by Petrojet. Al-Ahly, meanwhile, urged their players to get ready for Petrojet in the Cup quarterfinals in Cairo on Sunday. Red Devils' coach Hossam el-Badri praised the midfielers as they were behind the victory over Zamalek. El-Badri said Petrojet's game wouldn't be an easy as the opponents are very tough. He added that the cup title is still on the pitch. Al-Ahly's striker Mohamed Fadl may miss Saunday's game.
