Sending out an SOS
Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 16 - 02 - 2013

IT is lamentable to say that the nation has fallen into the trap of deep divisions and conflicts, triggered by its various political powers, which have been preoccupied with preserving their own interests since the January 25 Revolution.
Although all these conflicting forces have made their presence felt on the political stage, there is one party that has never done so or had a say in the affairs of the nation, which is now like a ship with an invisible captain.
This silent party, which undoubtedly has considerable force, has wholeheartedly lent its ear to one political force or another, thanks to the endless talk shows that are aired day and night by many mysterious, subjective satellite channels.
It is regrettable that the guests on these shows promote their own political agendas and unfortunately the gullible viewers, most Egyptians, believe whatever they say, as if it were the Gospel Truth.
It is even more lamentable that this silent majority repeats what the representatives of such political forces say without truly understanding it, helping spread their erroneous ideas among their families and friends. Thus, they give them a power that they do not deserve.
Without being aware of the damage they are doing, the silent majority is attributing the leadership of the nation to this or that political power, neither of which has the right to steer the nation's ship or deserves to be at the helm in the first place.
There is now more than one captain steering the nation's ship towards a destination of their choosing.
The nation's divided ship is sailing to this unknown destination, because of these conflicting, power-hungry captains, whose selfishness will send it to the bottom.
The people, represented by the silent majority, should urgently transmit an SOS to save their ship, before it's too late.
They should also be aware that these captains are being assisted by some invisible captains, tampering with its destiny from behind the bars of Tura Prison, because, despite the revolution, they want to see the nation sink beneath the waves.
These invisible captains want to see the Egyptian ship veer, list and then finally sink with all hands lost.
By the Way:
A strong man can wrestle you because of his physical strength. But a weak person will stab you in the back with his hidden weapon. Food that's left uncovered always gets adulterated.
