CAIRO - Bus drivers said Thursday they will move their sit-in from the headquarters of the Public Transport Authority in Nasr City to the Cabinet premises in central Cairo, threatening to go on hunger strike as of Sunday. "Relocating the sit-in to the Cabinet headquarters comes as a protest against the ignoring of our demands," said Ali Fattouh, the head of the independent Union of Public Transport Workers, threatening to escalate the strike to all bus depots nationwide. The workers demand the implementation of a recommendation made by the State-run Central Agency for Organisation and Administration to raise their bonuses by 200 per cent. Five depots called off their strike Thursday, which means 10 out of 25 depots are now operating.
