CAIRO - The Arab League on Sunday condemned the Israeli air attacks that killed five Egyptian security personnel. It also denounced the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and said the United Nations must do something to put an end to the problem. Around 15 people in Gaza have died in the violence. "We have issued a statement condemning the Israeli offensive on Gaza... and Egyptian land," Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby told reporters in Cairo. "The United Nations must take procedures to stop the Israeli offensive on Gaza," he said, without giving details of the kind of measures he wants the UN to take. The AL has called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to halt such actions against Palestinians.
