CAIRO - An Interior Ministry source Wednesday quashed reports that officers of the now-defunet State Security Department were involved in raiding the house the Muslim Brotherhood leader, Mohamed Badie, earlier this week. “Such behaviour glaringly runs against the strategy of the incumbent Interior Ministry amid the sweeping changes in the wake of the January 25 revolution,” added the source, speaking on condition of anonymity. Recently appointed Interior Minister Mansour el-Issawi has issued directives to speed up investigations into the suspected raiders, said the source. Badie, a professor of veterinary medicine, had accused two officers of the notorious former police service, of robbing his house in the governorate of Beni Suif, 120km south of Cairo, Sunday night where documents and CDs were stolen.
