CAIRO (Updated) - Egypt's State Security Prosecution has remanded in custody for 15 days a foreign citizen accused of spying for Israel, the Sate-run Al-Ahram newspaper reported Wednesday without naming a source. The suspect entered the country after the January 25 uprising to “collect information related to the security of the country,” the newspaper said. He confessed to spying as investigators are looking into the possibility of partners working with the suspect, it said. The nationality of the suspect has not been disclosed. An Israeli engineer was briefly arrested in Egypt's Suez city during protests against former President Hosni Mubarak, before he was then released without giving further details on why he was held.
