CAIRO - A female farmer died of bird flu, becoming the 9th victim of the deadly virus in Egypt this year, the Health Ministry announced Thursday. The 33-year-old woman from Qalubiya, nortwest of Cairo, died in a hospital, where she was admitted early last week. The woman, whose name was not disclosed, was the 9th death case caused this year by of the H5N1 bird flu virus, which broke out in Egypt four years. Salah had been treated unsuccessfully with Tamiflu. Family and friends have been examined for the virus and the tests proved negative, the Ministry said.
