Staff report CAIRO, June 25, 2018 - Egypt's Prime Minister Dr Moustafa Madbouli emphasised Monday that the state is keen on completing the upgrading of the entire education system including university education and scientific research activities. These two components of the education upgrading effort, he noted, are vital for ensuring the availability of the human cadres who can deal with the most up-to-date scientific systems, thereby meeting the requirements of sustainable development in various fields. Dr Madbouli made these statements as he conferred Monday with a visiting delegation representing British universities. Egypt, Prime Minister Madbouli stressed, is interested in benefiting from foreign expertise in higher education and scientific research and in developing co-operation with academic institutions. The meeting Monday, Dr Madbouli told the visiting delegation, was a good opportunity to look into ways of widening the scope of co-operation between Egyptian and British universities, making reference in this context to such areas of interest as capacity-building for Egyptian academicians, the mutual recognition of certificates and partnering and twinning between Egyptian and international universities.
