Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has directed the Ministry of Social Solidarity to allocate EGP 35m to support three of Egypt's key hospitals: Baheya, Ahl Masr, and Al-Nas hospitals. The funding aims to provide the necessary medical equipment and supplies to these institutions, which specialize in the treatment and care of breast cancer, burns, and pediatric patients. This is part of the government's continued effort to enhance healthcare services and support distinguished medical institutions in the country. The announcement came during a visit by Prime Minister Madbouly on Saturday to a number of private hospitals in Greater Cairo. He was accompanied by Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, and Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity. As part of the visit, Prime Minister Madbouly directed EGP 10m in support to Baheya Hospital, a leading institution for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. The allocated funds will be used to supply the hospital with necessary equipment and resources to continue its vital work. Minister Morsi confirmed that the Ministry of Social Solidarity would immediately allocate the required amount. Additionally, it was noted that Baheya had already received EGP 38m in previous funding from the ministry. Laila Salem, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Baheya Foundation, shared insights into the hospital's ongoing efforts to provide services of the highest international standards. She highlighted that Baheya received the highest Joint Commission International (JCI) healthcare accreditation in 2021, which was renewed for a second time in 2024 for a three-year period, reaffirming its position as one of the highest-quality hospitals in the world. Baheya also holds GAHAR accreditation and ISO certification for its environmental management system and occupational health and safety management. Salem emphasized that the hospital has made a remarkable impact over the past decade, providing more than one million services through outpatient clinics, conducting over two million laboratory and pathological tests, nearly one million radiology exams, and more than 315,000 radiotherapy sessions. Furthermore, Baheya has conducted over 144,000 chemotherapy sessions, 23,000 surgeries, and 90,000 physiotherapy sessions, with nearly 270,000 cases treated in total. Prime Minister Madbouly's tour also included a visit to Al-Nas Hospital in Shubra El-Kheima, Qalyubeya Governorate, where he toured the hospital's neonatal and intensive care units for children. He was particularly impressed by the training facilities, where medical staff is trained to perform various medical interventions with high efficiency and speed. Madbouly also visited the hospital's "Children's Playroom" and the "Palestinian Families Treatment Rooms," which have been used to provide medical services to patients from Gaza. Engineer Ayman Abbas, the hospital's director, explained that the facility has treated around 25 cases from Palestinian families, providing them with necessary medical and therapeutic care. At the end of his visit, Prime Minister Madbouly directed the Ministry of Social Solidarity to allocate EGP 25m to Al-Nas Hospital, ensuring the provision of the necessary medical equipment and supplies. Minister Morsi confirmed that the process of allocating this amount had already begun and pointed out that EGP 20m had previously been allocated to the hospital by the ministry. This reflects the government's strong commitment to supporting high-quality civil institutions that provide vital services to the public. The Prime Minister's tour concluded with a visit to Ahl Masr Hospital for Burns Treatment in New Cairo. Ahl Masr specializes in the treatment of burn injuries, a critical area of healthcare. Madbouly directed a further EGP 10m to the hospital to help bolster its operations. Minister Morsi confirmed that this allocation would be processed immediately, bringing the total amount allocated to Ahl Masr to EGP 34m. The Ministry of Social Solidarity also assured continued support for the hospital in the future to enable it to fulfill its crucial role in serving burn patients. In all three hospitals, the government's support underscores the importance of healthcare institutions that play a vital role in treating serious medical conditions. Through these measures, the Egyptian government continues to invest in its healthcare infrastructure, aiming to provide more accessible, efficient, and high-quality medical services to all citizens.
