Egypt's Al-Sisi directs for all citizens to receive proper healthcare: Madbouly
295 cases receive treatment at state's expense YTD
Published in Daily News Egypt on 18 - 04 - 2021

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed, on Sunday, that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has issued directives to provide proper healthcare for all citizens.
Madbouly reviewed the Supreme Medical Council's and the Medical Relief Committee's efforts to monitor and deal with urgent medical cases during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021.
He lauded the two entities' hard work in dealing with urgent cases and assisting the concerned ministries to provide medical care.
The Committee responded to about 1,607 urgent cases that were monitored on social media platforms during 2021.
It transferred 295 cases to hospitals for treatment at the state's expenses, in addition to referring 25 cases to receive marrow transplants. An additional 120 artificial limbs were provided for people with special needs.
The Committee is working to increase the allocated aid for citizens, noting that the committee had participated in a number of medical convoys to the neediest villages in Egypt. It has also launched a medical awareness campaign on social media platforms directed at some diseases, such as heart disease and how to deal with burns.
It indicated that it monitors any inquiry about drug shortages, in order to find these drugs or provide alternatives.
For social issues, particularly cases of family violence, the Committee coordinates with hospitals and the quick intervention teams at the Ministry of Social Solidarity. This aims to provide the necessary medical services and follow-up on the psychological status of children.
The Committee also cooperates with charities which provide medical services to patients, in order to provide the charities with the necessary medical services, and to shoulder part of the treatment's cost.
