The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued on Tuesday a press release of the manufacturing and extractive industries index in November2022. CAPMAS has updated the index methodology using the base year 2012/2013 and at the level of main indices of industrial activity according to Industrial Activity Manual (ISIC Rev.4) and by using the monthly index (for producer prices based on 2012/2013) since January 2020. Manufacturing and extractive industries index (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) reached 112.43 during November 2022 (primary) compared to 109.97 during October 2022 (final) increase by 2.24 %. The manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations reached 123.97 during November 2022, compared to 122.34 in October 2022, an increase by 1.33%. The manufacture of clothing reached 111.05 during November 2022, compared to 103.92 in October 2022, an increase by 6.86%, due to increased production to cover market needs with the start of the winter season. The manufacture of paper products reached 82.57 during November 2022, compared to 93.03 in October 2022, a decrease of 11.24%, due to the lack of raw materials due to the cessation of imports from abroad.
