ITIDA permits 'Al-Delta Electronic Systems' to start operating digital signature services across Egypt
Published in Daily News Egypt on 20 - 04 - 2022

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) issued a three-year operating digital signature permit for Al-Delta Electronic Systems on Sunday through the ITIDA's E-Signature Root CA Licensing Department to provide digital signature services in Egypt.
The permit was obtained after fulfilling the technical conditions and specifications stated in the terms of awarding licenses to provide digital signature services agreement No. 1 of 2021.
The licensed company is entitled to offer a variety of services, including providing registration services and issuing digital signature certificates, digital signature tools, Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) services, and E-seal and time-stamp services for both individuals and businesses through its extensive network of service outlets and its partnership with Telecom Egypt following the regulations and standards set by the ITIDA.
Al-Delta Electronic Systems stands behind implementing many successful DX projects, such as the Automation of Electronic Tax Invoice System, e-Examinations applied in Egyptian universities, and the infrastructure upgrade in university hospitals. The company applies international standards of information security and quality services in cooperation with global consultants.
The ITIDA aims to expand and put the digital signature services in full practice across Egypt, targeting linking government services to the private and civil sectors. Additionally, the ITIDA also aims to facilitate digital transformation efforts, meeting the strategic objectives of MCIT's Digital Egypt Strategy.
It is worth noting that the executive regulations of the digital signature law were amended under decision No. 361 of 2020 of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to accelerate Egypt's digital transformation adoption, the central role of digital signatures in developing the efficiency of administrative work, and improving government services, adding to Egypt's competitiveness globally.
The digital signature law, issued in 2004, upon which the ITIDA was established supports Egypt's e-commerce industry by securing the internet as a legally viable medium for digital transactions and aims to support digital transformation in all state sectors.
