EETC to implement EGP 440m substation in west Damietta

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has signed a contract with the Al Kharafi-Taikai-NHVS consortium to construct a transformer substation in west Damietta valued at EGP 440m.
Chairperson of the EETC, Sabah Mashaly, said that the contract involves the establishment of 22/220/500kv to meet the increasing electricity needs in the Delta region.
Mashaly added that the plant is to be built within 12 months from the contract date.
In a related context, El Sewedy Electric announced it will complete the implementation of a 500kv overhead power line with a length of 185 km within weeks.
A source at the Ministry of Electricity told Daily News Egypt that the new Benban-Nagaa Hammadi line will transfer electricity produced from the projects of the solar energy feed-in tariff in Aswan.
The source added that the Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company has completed the implementation of a power transformer with a capacity of 500kV and was operational until the completion of the expansion of the Benban transformer plants implemented by XD-EGEMAC to transfer the electricity produced from the solar power stations to the energy grid.
