EETC agrees with Egemac, TBEA alliances to supply EGP 656m worth equipment

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has signed seven contracts with the Egyptian German Electrical Manufacturing Company (Egemac) and TBEA alliances to supply electric transformers and equipment worth EGP 656m.
Sabah Meshaly, chairperson of EETC, signed the first contract to supply five mobile stations with 60mva capacity, three mobile 22x22x220kv stations, and three mobile 220/11/11kv stations with Xian, XD-Egemac, and Giza Systems alliance for EGP 23.8m. The implementation period is eight months.
The second contract included the implementation of the project to construct a 500/220/22 kV transformer station with a capacity of 750x2mva of gas insulated type (GIS) to supply the equipment of 500kv and 220 kV GIS, and medium voltage of 22 kV, in addition to control and protection equipment of the entire station with Xian – XD-Shiry – XD Egemac alliance with a value of EGP46.2m million and an implementation period of 15 months.
She explained that the third contract includes the supply and supervision of the installation of three transformers of 175 MVA of 220/22/11 kV capacity, and three transformers of 40 MVA and 66/11 kV capacity for the transformer station of Hawamdia with the alliance of XD-Egemac, Xiam, Changzhou XD, worth EGP 79.6m and an implementation period of 12 months.
Regarding the fourth contract, EETC signed a contract with TBEA -Sgenyang Transformer Group China to supply and supervise the installation of six 250mvA single-phase transformers, with a value of EGP 139.7m. The project will be financed through the European Investment Bank and its implementation will take 17 months.
Meshaly pointed out that the fifth contract was signed with TBEA-Shenyang- Transformer Group Co. Ltd, to supply and supervise the installation of nine transformers of a single-phase transformer with a capacity of 250 MVA of 500/220 / 11 kV, and a spare transformer for Hawamdia station, with a value of EGP 186.2m, and financed through Arab Investment Bank for Economic Development.
EETC signed the sixth contract with the TBEA-Shenyang Transformer Group Co. Ltd, to supply three single-phase transformers of 95 MVA and 500/132/11 kV capacity for Nagaa Hammadi transformer station with a value of EGP 50.3m.
The last contract was signed with the Egemac, Xian, and XD-XB alliance to supply and supervise the installation of 750×2 MVA transformers for a voltage of 220/200 kV for West Damietta transformer station, with a value of EGP 130.1m, with a funding from the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
