The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) has signed a contract with XD-EGMAC, worth EGP 289m, to supply the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the power stations in both Huragda and Sharm El Sheikh.
According to chairperson of the EETC Gaber Disouky, the project will be implemented on a turnkey system basis. The work that will be implemented by the XD-EGMAC at the Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh stations includes design, manufacture, supply, installation, training, and testing of a GIS building of 220 kV and the GIS building facility of 66 kV.
It will also supply a 125 MVA transformer substation with a voltage of 220/66/11 KV, supply a 10 MVA substation with a voltage of 66/11 kV, and supply a 1 MVA 1 / 0.4 kV substation.
He explained that the contract includes the supply of an 11 kV earthing facility transformer, the supply of fire extinguishing systems, protection systems, and communications, as well as all necessary electrical and civil works.
The contract value of the Hurghada transformer station is 220/66/11 kV at $42,886,892, and the contract value of the Sharm El Sheikh transformer station is 220/66/11 KV at $3,659,512, financed from the sources of the EETC.
Disouky said that the implementation will be in accordance with the technical specifications and conditions in force at the EETC for a period of implementation up to 10 months from the date of signing the contract.
Nevertheless, chairperson of XD-EGMAC Medhat Ramadan said that his company is cooperating with the EETC in many projects and is trying to complete the works ahead of schedule and offer good prices compared to other companies.
