Ministers of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, Military Production, Mohammed Al-Assar, and Local Development, Mahmoud Shaarawy, as well as chief of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation Abdelmonem Al-Tarras, headed to Germany on Sunday to get informed on the latest technologies in establishing factories for waste recycling.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, the four Egyptian high officials are forming a committee formed by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to visit Berlin. The visit aims to explore the latest applications and technologies in recycling in order to benefit from the German experience in ending the problem of waste.
On Saturday, the four officials agreed on coordination to develop an integrated Egyptian recycling system, and raising the capability of the current factories as well as adding new techniques and instruments through benefiting from the German experience. They also agreed on benefiting from the resulting waste material after recycling, in manufacturing, agriculture, generating electricity, and producing alternative fuel.
For her part, Fouad expressed trust in the ability of military production factories and the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation to assimilate the German experience and current training and technicians. Those technicians will serve in the present factories in the governorates as part of the national programme for managing waste.
She added that her ministry has a clear roadmap for implementing the programme, in collaboration with the ministries of Military Production and Local Development.
