Egyptian oil, gas companies integral part of Egyptian-Jordanian joint cooperation
Jordanian Egyptian Fajr will establish north Jordan gas pipeline to supply Jordanian power stations in 2020

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla said that the contributions of Egyptian oil and gas companies to the development of various gas activities in the Jordanian market is an important addition to the improvement of cooperation and joint integration between Egypt and Jordan to achieve common interests.
This came during the general assembly meeting of Egyptian Fajr Natural Gas Company (Fajr Egypt), headed by El-Molla, to approve its financial results for 2017, in the presence of the first undersecretary for gas affairs of the ministry, the head of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), and Fouad Rashad, chairperson of the Jordanian Egyptian Fajr Natural Gas Company (a subsidiary of Fajr Egypt).
The minister pointed out that Fajr Egypt is a successful model for integration, through the Jordanian Egyptian Fajr transporting, supplying, and distributing natural gas within Jordan.
On the other hand, Fajr Egypt's president, Ahmed Mahmoud, explained that the company is currently studying the technical and economic aspects for the transportation and distribution of natural gas, for industrial, commercial, domestic, and compressed natural gas stations for cars in Jordan's Aqaba.
Mahmoud added that a number of projects are currently being studied to diversify and maximise the company's activities, such as the natural gas supply project for the city of El-Tor in South Sinai.
He also reviewed the projects of Jordanian Egyptian Fajr to be implemented, including the establishment of the north Jordan gas pipeline, at a length of 55 kilometres, using the expertise of Egyptian companies, which enables the transfer of gas from northern Jordan to Jordanian power stations starting in 2020.
He added that the necessary facilities to supply the Al Samra and Hussain thermal gas stations have been completed and that the early gas reclamation works were completed in September 2017, in addition to the commencement of gas delivery works for the major industrial entities, pointing out that the major industrial cities in Jordan are currently being supplied with gas as a cleaner urban fuel alternative.
