Published in Daily News Egypt on 06 - 01 - 2016

The 29 years-old, Spanish tennis player, Rafael Nadal Parera jumped from the 19th place to be ranked this year as world No.5, with 5,230 points. Due to his high performance on the clay-court, he was titled "The King of Clay".
Recently Nadal, who plays Left-handed (two-handed backhand), expressed that he will prepare for Rio's 2016 Summer Olympics as if he is preparing for any other championship, and will try to win the gold medal, when the time comes. He added that if it is possible to play, in the Olympics, in the double men's or the double mixed competitions, he will do so. Even though, he is always keen about playing in the individual competitions' category.
For the moment he will just focus on the Association of Tennis Professionals' (ATP) agenda. In Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, Nadal won the gold medal in singles. It seems that he wants to develop his world rank, as the 2016's world NO.1 is the 28 years-old Serbian Novak Djokovic, with the number of points 16,585.
In these regards he added "Participating in the Olympics tops my priorities, even though at the moment I am trying to focus on the Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tennis Tournament 2016".
Among his current priorities is the Qatar ExxonMobil Open Tennis Tournament 2016, whose current events are celebrated in the Qatari capital, Doha, at the Khalifa tennis and squash complex. When he arrived to Doha, he expressed that "I'm very excited to be here in Doha to participate in the 2016 Qatar ExxonMobil Open. I'm also very excited to begin my new season with such a special event".
Nadal started this season with an impressive success as he won the 2016 Mubadala World Tennis Championship which has finished in the second of this January and was held at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex, UAE.
Regarding the comparison between this season and the previous one, Nadal commented that this season he is more confident but "anything may occur" as nothing is guaranteed in the sports.
About the audience in the Arab countries, Nadal believes that "I feel that I am warmly welcomed worldwide, still I feel this, a matter which all the players. feel that The audience's support gives me more strength and energy"
Nadal's professional history is full of honorable victories including wining the Grand Salam single titles for 14 times and was named the 2011 Laureus World Sportsman of the year.
Despite being the "King of Clay", along with Mats Wilander, they (he) was the only male player (s) to win at least two Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces which are: hard court, grass and clay.
He managed to win 27 titles in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000. Thanks to his victories in the Grand Slam and Masters 1000, he became the only male player in the tennis history to win one Grand Slam and Masters 1000 title for ten consecutive years (2005-2014).
Two years ago, he won the 2014 French Open referred to as "Roland Gaross". Thanks to this victory he became the only male player to win a single Grand Slam tournament for nine times and the first to win at least one Grand Slam Tournament for ten consecutive times. In the Roland Gaross Nadal achieved a record by winning this tournament for nine times.
