Automech Formula exhibition set to kick off in March
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 01 - 2015

The Egyptian automobile market is awaiting the March kick-off of the Automech Formula exhibition, which will be held from 12-17 March of this year.
This year's session is considered highly important for the market, after the dramatic events experienced by the country over the past three years and low attendance rates for the exhibition. Participants include 30 passenger car companies, over 70 accessory companies, and more than ten mass and light transport companies from around the globe, all of which were keen to participate and represent approximately 90% of companies operating in the Egyptian market.
There are many companies on the must-watch list, which prompted the expansion of the fair by setting up separate tents for each company that are connected to the fair. It is expected that the final number of participants will be announced in the coming days following the completion of tent construction.
This year's exhibition is considered extremely important for those who are interested in the automotive sector in Egypt and the Arab world. The year saw significant growth in sales, reaching pre-2011 levels with expectations that 2014 sales would be surpassed by more than 280,000 units, according to the Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC). The sector also hopes to maintain these growth rates and achieve even higher levels throughout 2015, while simultaneously taking advantage of investment opportunities in the upcoming phase.
Automech Formula is one of the largest specialised exhibitions organized in Egypt. The site of the exhibition is located on an area of 45,000 square meters. Exhibition attendance numbers are expected to attract to more than half a million during its 22nd session.
The Cairo International Motor Show was inaugurated in 1991, a member of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles (OICA) and the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). The Motor Show supports a number of important unions, organisations, and Egyptian ministries operating in the field.
