CAIRO: RAK Airways recently appointed Excel Travel as its general sales agent (GSA) for outbound travel from Egypt, according to a statement.
The UAE national airline launched its Cairo route in December 2010, and now flies to 11 destinations.
Omar Jahameh, the airline's CEO, said, “RAK Airways is now reiterating its position in the Cairo market by joining hands with a strong GSA in Cairo. We are optimistic that we will meet the increasing demands of travel from Cairo, giving Egyptian expatriates the much needed travel privilege and destinations in the GCC.”
George Fawzi, CEO of Excel Travel, said the aim is to increase outbound travel from Egypt to UAE and beyond through travel on RAK Airways.
RAK Airways flies to Khartoum, Kathmandu, Peshawar, Lahore, Dhaka, Chittagong, Kuwait, Doha, Jeddah, Calicut and Cairo.
“Records show that the growing remittance of Egyptian nationals to the home country is from UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and I believe RAK Airways strategic connections to these key destinations, will further strengthen the economy of Egypt,” said Jahameh.
