PARIS University's Georges Pompidou Professor Philipe Rugee visited EgyptAir hospital last week where he conducted medical checkups of a number of Egyptian patients. "The visit was part of a joint cooperation protocol between the two hospitals signed early this year," explained head of EgyptAir hospital Abdelsalam Helmi. Dr. Rugee, who also is the head of the European association to treat digestive system cancers, illustrated treatment protocols for cancer patients during his stay in Cairo. Rugee contributed to a scientific seminar on digestive system cancers and shared the most recent research with Egyptian doctors specialised in the same field.
Two for one
KUWAIT'S Wataniya Airways continues its annual tradition of anniversary celebrations by launching a great new offer to mark its up and coming second birthday. This year's anniversary offer is an exciting six week long "Two for One" promotion in which anyone can buy two tickets for the price of one, on every flight, every day to all of the carrier's destinations.
"This year we wanted to say thank you to the guests who have supported us from the beginning and continue to do so," said Abdulsalam Al-Bahar, chairman and managing director. "Celebrating our anniversary is twice as good this year. We felt that rewarding our guests is the best way to commemorate our second anniversary. To take advantage of this unique limited offer, guests need to book and buy their tickets on or before 10 January 2011, and travel before 15 February 2011.
Christmas onboard
IT IS Christmas time and many airlines are competing with special fares, new services and more offers. EgyptAir Express airline exppanded its operation to major tourist cities in the Red Sea resorts of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh. Express Chairman and CEO Helmi Rizk said that the airline had scheduled 25 additional flights for the christmas vacations to meet the increases demand by foreigner to spend the Christmas out of Cairo. Rizk added that the airline was preparing new packages for the school mid- year vacations in February.
British Airways announced its 2010 Christmas fare where customers can fly to Cairo or Sharm El-Sheikh from London from just EGP 2400 including taxes.
"There's really nothing quite as special as spending Christmas in London," said Mervat Alfy, country commercial manager for British Airways in Egypt.
RAK to Cairo
RAK Airways started operating to Cairo last week with three weekly flights from Ras Al-Khaimah. The carrier recently added Cairo as its fifth destination. "We look forward to introducing Egyptian travellers to our 'Small Fares, Big Deals' offer and we plan to support greater trade and tourism exchange between the UAE and Egypt," wstated Sheikh Salem ben Sultan Al-Qassimi in Cairo.
RAK'd delegation was warmly welcomed by the national carrier's CEO and chairman Hussein Massoud and Cairo International chairman Hasan Rashed. "RAK's three flights will be served at Cairo international by EgyptAir Ground Services Company," explained Massoud. "We are happy to have our dear Emirati brothers operating from Cairo. This is a reflect of the old strong Emirati Egyptian relationship," he added. The two companies signed a contract on Monday to serve RAK's passengers and cargo.
Included in the price of each RAK Airways flight is a full hot meal and beverages on-board all flights, a baggage allowance of 40kg per passenger as well as the normal hand baggage allowance and free shuttle service between other emirates and RAK International Airport for each flight.
