Mido launches attack on Boro
Published in Daily News Egypt on 30 - 07 - 2010

CAIRO: Mido has accused English second-division side Middlesbrough of using 'dishonorable ways' to force him out of the club.
The Egyptian striker has agreed to join Ajax Amsterdam in the current transfer window but the Dutch giants could not reach a financial agreement with Middlesbrough over his transfer.
He is deemed surplus to requirements at Boro, the club he joined in 2007 before having loan spells with fellow English sides Wigan Athletic and West Ham United and his boyhood club Zamalek of Egypt.
"Middlesbrough are doing their best to force me out because they don't want to give me my financial dues," Mido told FilGoal.com on Friday.
"It's not the first time for them to do that. They have done it before with several players such as Mohamed Shawky, Gaizka Mendieta and Jimmy Hasselbaink.
"But I will not be like them, I will not give up my rights."
Mido, who has one year left on his contract at the Riverside, was left out of Middlesbrough's pre-season trip to Ireland.
Manager Gordon Strachan said the 27-year-old stayed behind to work on improving his fitness.
"I was dropped from the training camp because the club claimed I was unfit, this is something that has not happened to any other player in the history of football," Mido added.
"It is only natural that the players be not fully fit at the beginning of the pre-season training camp, during which they get physically prepared to play in the new campaign.
"Moreover, I did not have fitness problems. I played regularly with West Ham in the second half of last season, except the last two league games, and lost seven kilograms during the summer.
"I will not leave Middlesbrough until I find a suitable offer elsewhere. If I don't find that offer, I will stay until the end of my contract and gain my financial rights," the nomadic striker concluded.
