This portrait by the Egyptian-based photographer, Van Leo, exemplifies his craftsmanship. Entitled "An Egyptian athlete" the subject mimics Rodin's masterpiece "The Thinker." Van Leo never had assistants and insisted on doing everything himself, dealing with customers, to lighting, enlarging, and retouching.
