Published in Daily News Egypt on 18 - 03 - 2008

CAIRO: Link Development recently sponsored the launch of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 in Saudi Arabia.
The software development subsidiary of Egypt's LinkDotNet, and a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, has enjoyed a long-term strategic partnership with Microsoft. Its latest launch was meant to "ensure that IT professionals in Saudi Arabia are among the first in the world to experience the launch of Windows Server 2008, according to a press statement.
The launch was the largest enterprise launch in Microsoft s history, said the company, and Link Development sponsored the first wave of presentations which took place in Jeddah, Al Khobar and Riyadh last week.
"Our commitment to Saudi Arabia is stronger today than when we entered the market four years ago, says Hesham El Beih, manager of LinkDotNet Saudi Arabia, We are proud to include many leading government departments and companies on our fast-growing client list. These include Saudi Post, the Ministry of Interior, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and Abdullatif Al Jameel, to name but a few.
We are also proud to be one of a select few Microsoft partners around the world who are joining forces for this major launch which kicked off in Los Angeles at the end of February.
Hanan Abdel Meguid, Link Development CEO, said We had been gearing up for the new enterprise and developer platform in the shape of Windows Server 2008, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. Now with its arrival we joined forces to explain in detail about Microsoft's tools and technologies that will help IT professionals and developers work impressively.
The launch program drew 3,000 visitors from all sectors of Saudi government and business and provided them with an early opportunity to experience the new Microsoft products, and also participate in question-and-answer sessions. Experts from Microsoft and Link Development were on hand to network. The icing on the cake was that everyone who attended left the events with all three new products to try.
Founded in 1996 as a subsidiary of LinkDotNet, Link Development is a fast growing regional software export powerhouse. The company focuses on portals and intranets, e-commerce, enterprise integration, Microsoft CRM implementations, helpdesk solutions, unified communications and IPTV.
Headquartered in Cairo, the company has offices in Dubai and Riyadh, and is currently opening several other offices in the region and in Europe.
