CAIRO: In a wave of environmental events taking place in Cairo, art is definitely a new comer. This Tuesday, the 5th of July, head over to Easel and Camera Contemporary Art Gallery to attend the opening of the photography exhibition by Hoda Baraka. The exhibition is titled “From Gharb Soheil” and depicts the magical colours and natural beauty of the Gharb Soheil village located in South Aswan. Hoda Baraka captures the area's inhabitants, architecture, landscape and birds seeking to highlight the necessity of preserving the beauty of Gharb Soheil in the form of striking images of the village's exquisiteness. The opening will be at 7 pm on the 5th of July, but the exhibition will extend until the 29th of July 2010. This exhibition is sponsored by the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab region and Europe (CEDARE). The artist Mohamed Abla is inaugurating the exhibition. He's passionate about environmental causes and the idea of merging the arts with environmental work which is the main objective of this exhibit.
