Slovenian President Borut Pahor will be heading a delegation of major businessmen to Egypt next December 5th, head of the Egyptian investment authority announced Thursday. Mohamed Khodair, head of the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), met Thursday with Slovenian ambassador to Egypt, Tanja Miškova to discuss preparations of President Pahor's anticipated visit which will take place during December 5th and 6th. Khodair said the Slovenian president's visit comes in a highly important timing as Egypt is witnessing new investment opportunities in several fields. "There is a genuine determination to improve investment climate in Egypt through issuing a new investment law that will guarantee more privileges and incentives for all investors," Khodair added. From her part, ambassador Miškova has commended the ongoing efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to improve investment climate, expressing desire to witness a strong bilateral cooperation in all fields in the coming period. There are around 30 Slovenian companies currently operating in Egypt, including four firms in field of industries, five in construction, three in services, two in tourism, and one in communications and Information Technology (CIT). Earlier this month, Egyptian Minister of Trade Tarek Qabil announced that a Slovenian high-profile governmental mission would visit Cairo by the beginning of December 2016 to discuss enhancing joint economic ties. He further said that a large number of Slovenian businessmen and investors is set to accompany the delegation, involving 15 large firms working in various fields, notably the agricultural development and electric industries.
