Egypt Fawry's 1st Financial Inclusion Conference Kicks off
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 17 - 06 - 2014

Egypt's first financial inclusion conference; 'Towards Greater Access to Financial & Government Services in Egypt' has kickded off this morning in Cairo.
The one-day conference is organized on Tuesday by Fawry – Egypt's leading nationwide Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) – among strong participation from both local and foreign institutions as well as officials from the Egyptian government, notably Ahmed Darwish – the former minister of adminstrative development.
The conference explores the best ways in which financial and governmental services can be extended to micro enterprises and Egypt's most vulnurable, a process that Fawry believes is integral to facilitating the engagement of the informal sector in the state's system and spreading social justice to all socio-economic classes. It will also present how technology and innovation drive economic growth and social justice.
"We at Fawry believe that increased financial inclusion, which extends to Egypt's most needy as well the country's many mirco enterprises, is crucial for the spread of social justice and increasing their integration within the state system." said Ashraf Sabry, CEO of Fawry
"The challenge of financial inclusion requires out-of-the-box thinking, and we think that today's conference is an ideal vehicle for promoting and fostering the thinking needed to generate financial inclusion solutions."
The conference is being held in partnership with MasterCard and the International Finance Corportion (IFC). Among the distinguished list of international experts are several from fellow developing markets such as Denise Diaz of the Central Bank of Brazil, Carlos Marmolejo from Consar in Mexico, and Abhishek Sinha from EKO in India.
