Egypt's Fawry helps MasterCard launch electronic bill-paying services

The Egyptian Electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) company Fawry announced it is joining forces with MasterCard to provide payment services to Egyptian customers, the Middle Eastern News service Bawaba reported Wednesday.
Fawry's EBPP services consolidate billing services for businesses, and allow customers to pay at specific retailers using Fawry.
Bawaba reported that Fawry has ten thousand electronic and retail payment locations across Egypt.
By partnering with MasterCard, Fawry hopes to enable bill pay using credit cards. Right now transactions are debit based.
