Egypt declares Sept. 4 public holiday for Prophet Muhammad's birth anniversary

Egypt has declared Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, an official paid holiday for public sector employees to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, the Cabinet said on Monday.
The holiday will apply to staff at ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units as well as state-owned and public sector companies, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said in a decree.
