Egypt's Education Development Fund (EDF) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Saxony University Egypt to launch a programme to train Egyptian graduates for technical and vocational sectors in Germany, the Cabinet reported. Secretary-General of the EDF Rasha Saad Sharaf said the agreement is a key step in empowering Egyptian youth and preparing them to integrate into international labour markets, as per the statement. She noted that the programme creates a sustainable and scalable model for workforce development, with the fund providing institutional support, logistical management, travel coordination, and financial backing to ensure the initiative's success. Sharaf added that the partnership aligns with Egypt's vision to expand opportunities for national talents in high-demand sectors, enhancing the country's global reputation as a source of highly qualified human capital. The programme aims to establish a database of qualified graduates and in-demand specialisations to enhance collaboration in dual technical education, technology transfer, and academic exchanges between Egypt and Germany. Saxony University Egypt President Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman lauded the agreement as a significant advancement in technical and vocational education in Egypt, aligning academic training with practical skills and global labour market demands, while meeting strict German standards. The deal is a milestone in Egypt's strategy for developing technical and vocational education, reflecting the state's commitment to building a new generation of talent to support Egypt's sustainable development plans and Vision 2030, the report said.
