Egypt's Education Development Fund (EDF), affiliated with the Cabinet, announced the launch of the country's first diploma programme to train Tokkatsu activity teachers, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, an official report said on Sunday. The programme is launched in cooperation with Ain Shams, Helwan, the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, and Japan's Fukui University, granting graduates a dual certificate, acccording to the statement. Rasha Saad Sharaf, secretary-general of the EDF, stated that the programme is a significant advancement in teacher preparation, aligning with the state's goal to improve education quality by following top international standards. She added that 16 faculty members from the Egyptian universities had undergone intensive training in Japan through the Egypt-Japan Partnership Programme, enabling them to deliver the diploma courses in line with global standards. The programme will initially be offered at three campuses: The Faculty of Women at Ain Shams University, Heliopolis, the Faculty of Education at Helwan University, and the Egypt-Japan University in Smart Village, 6th of October City. Sharaf confirmed that Japanese professors will directly participate in teaching in Egypt, further strengthening the quality of the programme and providing students with first-hand exposure to Japanese expertise.
