Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, has announced that the ministry is preparing to carry out a comprehensive geological survey across the country using advanced technologies to map Egypt's full mining potential. The initiative aims to provide investors with integrated geological data, supporting plans to attract more investment into the mining sector. It will be implemented alongside efforts to modernise the mining system, including the launch of a digital portal for geological data and investment opportunities, modelled after Egypt's Exploration and Production Gateway (EUG), to give investors faster and easier access to information. Badawi made the remarks during a meeting with Shailender Sinha, vice president of International Resources Holding (IRH) for Exploration, and Conrad Alderton, the company's chief geologist. The two sides agreed to form joint working teams in preparation for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation at the beginning of next month.
