The 2025 editions of Big 5 Construct Egypt and the Egypt Infrastructure & Water Expo concluded in Cairo on Tuesday, drawing nearly 19,000 industry professionals and spotlighting the country's $60 billion New Administrative Capital project, which won the Smart City Initiative of the Year award. Held under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, the three-day events brought together government officials, private sector leaders, and international brands from more than 20 countries to align on Egypt's Vision 2030 development goals. The expos featured exhibitors including Bosch, Bauer Maschinen, Veolia, and Grupo Greco Gres, alongside delegations from the European Union and Saudi Arabia. Discussions at Big 5 Talks, Infra360, and Water360 sessions focused on sustainability, digital transformation, and AI-driven infrastructure maintenance. The Big 5 Egypt Impact Awards honoured 18 winners, including TAQA Arabia for Egypt's largest solar-powered desalination plant and Orascom Construction for innovation in digital solutions. The Administrative Capital for Urban Development took the top smart city prize for integrating solar farms, smart grids, and a high-speed monorail in its flagship mega-project, designed to house six million people. "With packed aisles and a busy show floor, quality business conversations and engaging talks sessions, the 2025 edition highlighted how construction, infrastructure and water sectors remain at the heart of Egypt's Vision 2030 ambitions," Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President – Construction, dmg events, said. "We're proud that this year's edition of the events has been exceptional in its scale, participation and outcomes, as we look forward to building on this success in 2026."
