The head of Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI), Mokhtar Abdel Latif on Tuesday pledged to intensify efforts to boost local manufacturing and technology localisation after the political leadership renewed his appointment for another term. Abdel Latif called the decision a "badge of honour" that deepens his sense of responsibility, adding that AOI will work closely with its leadership and staff to advance the state's industrial strategy and meet the goals of the so-called New Republic. He said the state-owned defence and industrial group has in recent years undergone major modernisation and technological transformation, positioning itself as an advanced institution able to keep pace with the latest industrial and technological developments.
