Egypt's Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) is implementing numerous development projects in several African countries as part of efforts to boost regional cooperation and support sustainable growth, the state-owned organisation said in a statement on Wednesday. AOI Chairman Mokhtar Abdel Latif said the group's activities include renewable energy and water management projects, with a 4-megawatt solar power plant completed in Uganda and another under construction in Djibouti. "We believe our strength is in integration, and our future lies in cooperation to build a better tomorrow for our nations," Abdel Latif said during a visit by ambassadors from about half of Africa's countries accredited to Egypt. "The AOI offers all its manufacturing capacity, advanced technology and training systems to serve the development goals of African nations," The envoys toured AOI facilities in Cairo and viewed solar panel production lines and other projects aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Wael Shehata said many African nations are keen to deepen cooperation with Egypt in manufacturing, technology transfer and training. The ambassadors praised Egypt's industrial capabilities and said the country remains a key partner and an attractive destination for investment in Africa.
