Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday reviewed plans for a €90 million industrial and logistics complex project to process kaolinitic sand deposits in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the Cabinet said. The project, to be developed by private company Income in Ain Sokhna, will use advanced physical, chemical and thermal technologies to turn alumina‐rich kaolinitic sand into high‐value industrial products. Prime Minister Madbouly reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting investment in mining and other sectors to boost industrial output and attract both domestic and foreign capital. Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawy said the project aims to increase returns from mineral resources through local manufacturing and downstream industries, positioning Egypt as a competitive, production‐based economy. The facility is expected to reduce reliance on imports and open new export opportunities, strengthening Egypt's role as a regional hub for industrial processing and logistics.
