Egypt's regasification capacity during the peak consumption period of 2025 has reached 2,250 million cubic feet per day (cf/d), as the country intensifies efforts to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies across all sectors. As part of a proactive strategy to handle emergencies, Egypt relies on three floating regasification units to inject natural gas into the national grid. Two of these units, Energos Force and Energos Power, are stationed at Sokhna Port and are currently being prepared for operation, while the Hoegh Galleon unit, located at Ain Sokhna Port, has been operational since 2024. In parallel, efforts are underway to secure strategic gas reserves. The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is coordinating with global partners to guarantee sufficient LNG shipments, aiming to meet rising demand and ensure supply stability.
