Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is finalising preparations for the floating regasification unit ENERGOS ESKIMO at Ain Sokhna Port, as part of efforts to secure gas supplies during the summer. Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi inspected the vessel ahead of its planned connection to the SUMED pier. The unit will be used to receive imported LNG, regasify it, and feed it into the national grid, supporting power stations and essential sectors. This is the third FSRU the ministry has deployed to reinforce the national gas network amid regional supply challenges. Badawi reviewed ongoing technical modifications and instructed teams to meet the scheduled timeline for connecting the vessel in the coming days. He also stressed compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards to ensure high-quality implementation. Badawi was accompanied by senior officials from EGAS, the Ministry, Petrojet, ENPPI, and GASCO. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: M. S. Salama
