China's consumer price index (CPI) declined by 0.1 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2025, while core CPI, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose 0.4 per cent, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday. In June, headline CPI edged up 0.1 per cent year-on-year. Prices of fresh vegetables and transport services declined, while pork and fresh fruit saw gains.
