Egypt and China signed a set of cooperation agreements on Thursday covering quality standards and healthcare, as part of efforts to expand bilateral ties across strategic sectors, the Egyptian Cabinet said in a statement. Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the signing ceremony in Cairo, where officials from both countries finalised several memoranda of understanding and cooperation frameworks. The deals include an MoU between Egypt's Organisation for Standardisation and Quality and Standardisation Administration of China (SAC) to enhance technical collaboration and harmonise regulatory practices. Another agreement was signed between Egypt's Supreme Council of University Hospitals and China's National Health Commission (NHC), aimed at boosting cooperation in healthcare services, hospital management, and medical training. The agreements were part of a wider package of bilateral deals signed during Li's visit to Cairo, which focused on expanding Egypt-China cooperation in infrastructure, trade, health, and green development.
