Egyptian banks will continue normal operations on Tuesday despite the disruption to telecom services caused by a fire at the Ramses Exchange, according to Mohamed El-Etreby, chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Banks. El-Etreby said that banks had taken necessary measures to maintain uninterrupted services, emphasising the sector's robust technological infrastructure that allows it to manage emergencies without any disruptions to operations or impact on clients. The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) confirmed that the incident led to a temporary outage in communication services and said work is underway to restore connectivity gradually in the coming hours. It added that relevant authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary steps to resolve the issue and compensate affected customers.
