The Egyptian Ministry of Health's Medical Professions Development Sector signed Tuesday a cooperation protocol with Cairo University Hospitals to expand nationwide medical training and research, aiming to improve the skills of healthcare providers in line with the country's Vision 2030 strategy. The agreement, signed under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, sets out a joint framework to design and implement integrated clinical and administrative training programmes, while also enhancing scientific research under university supervision. The protocol includes efforts to raise clinical research standards at both the Ministry of Health and Qasr Al-Ainy Hospital, in accordance with Cairo University's medical ethics and postgraduate guidelines. Under the deal, the Medical Professions Development Sector will assess training needs, manage scheduling, nominate trainees for conferences, and oversee implementation and evaluation across Egypt's governorates. It will also be responsible for funding and performance monitoring, including removing trainees who fail to meet required standards. Cairo University Hospitals will lead curriculum design, assign qualified trainers at a ratio of one to five trainees, administer final evaluations, and submit monthly performance reports. The collaboration aims to institutionalise high-quality training and improve healthcare delivery across the country. Attribution: Amwal Al Ghad English Subediting: Y.Yasser
