Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a phone call on Tuesday with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to discuss the situation in the Palestinian territories. Both leaders firmly rejected the ongoing Israeli assault on Gaza and attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. They stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the advancement of the two-state solution through broader recognition of the Palestinian state. They also called for mobilising support to implement the Arab-Islamic plan for the reconstruction of Gaza without displacing its population. The call also covered developments in Syria, Lebanon, and Libya. The two leaders affirmed the importance of preserving the unity, territorial integrity, and security of these countries. They further agreed to continue consultations and coordination between Egypt and Spain on regional issues, given the vital role both nations play in promoting regional stability.
