Arab-Islamic ministerial committee condemns Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 20 - 03 - 2025

The ministerial committee assigned by the Arab-Islamic extraordinary summit on Gaza developments has condemned Israel's airstrikes on the Strip, denouncing the direct bombardment of civilian-populated areas, killing and injuring hundreds of Palestinians. The committee stated that such actions violate the ceasefire agreement, UN relevant resolutions, international treaties, and humanitarian law, further worsening the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and threatening regional security and stability.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the committee reiterated its call for the international community to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities by pressing Israel, as the occupying power, to immediately halt its aggression and violations. It urged compliance with UN resolutions and international law, protection of Palestinian civilians, the restoration of electricity in Gaza, and the full reopening of border crossings to ensure the continuous and expanded entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.
The committee underscored the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire, de-escalation, and the resumption of negotiations to implement all phases of the ceasefire agreement, ultimately ending the war on Gaza and preventing further cycles of violence.
Reaffirming its longstanding stance, the committee stressed the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative. It called for the protection of Palestinians' legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
