EGX 30 Climbs 1.01%, Nears 5760 Pts On Midday

During Wednesday midday session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted gains of EGP 3.5 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 396.342 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 12:37 p.m. Cairo time (10:37 GMT).
EGX indices hit green during midday.
The main index, EGX30 climbed by 1.01% to hit 5757.76 p. EGX20 surged by 1.27% to reach 6759.72 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 hiked by 1.16% to hit 538.09 pts. Price index EGX100 pushed up by 1.06% to reach 884.23 p.
Traded volume reached 73.957 million securities worth EGP 224.547 million, exchanged through 13.287 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 147 listed securities; 8 declined 115 advanced while 24 keeping their previous levels.
EGX's midday gains were backed by the non-Arab Foreigners' buying transactions.
Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 79.6% and 8.67% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 7.584 million and EGP 496.390 thousand excluding the deals.
On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 11.73% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 8.080 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX's leading shares witnessed midday upwards.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)'s stock pushed up by 2.20% to reach EGP 4.19.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA)'s stock soared by 1.69% to hit EGP 0.60.
LINKonLINE, a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA), announced the acquisition of Arabia.com on Monday.
Upon this acquisition, LINKonLINE will be able to support the portal's Arabic content through focusing on exclusive and diverse content - from sport to technology, autos news and leisure.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) jumped by 1.68% to hit EGP 12.10.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)'s stock inched higher by 1.34% to hit EGP 262.80.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) rose by 0.27% to hit EGP 3.76.
Orascom announced on Sunday changing its name to Global Telecom Holding SAE after Vimpelcom took control of the Egyptian company last year in a deal worth around $6 billion.
