EGX 30 Below 5700 On Local Selling Pressures; Midday

During Tuesday midday session, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has posted losses of EGP 986 million as the capital market has amounted to EGP 392.125 million, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad at 12:55 p.m. Cairo time (10:55 GMT).
EGX indices went in red except for the EGX70.
The main index, EGX30 fell by 0.56% to hit 5680.22 p. EGX20 went down by 0.45% to reach 6639.51 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.28% to hit 524.44 pts. Price index EGX100 dipped by 0.20% to reach 869.71 p.
Traded volume reached 132.523 million securities worth EGP 236.456 million, exchanged through 12.717 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 145 listed securities; 85 declined 33 advanced while 27 keeping their previous levels.
EGX's midday losses were due to Egyptians' selling pressure.
Egyptians were net sellers seizing 75.64% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 34.966 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Arabs and non-Arab Foreigners were net buyers seizing 9.78% and 14.58% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 10.934 million and EGP 24.032 million excluding the deals.
Leading Shares:
EGX's leading shares witnessed unsteady performance during midday trading.
Orascom Construction Industries:
Orascom Construction Industries – OCI (OCIC.CA)'s stock pushed down by 1.84% to hit EGP 264.49.
EFG-Hermes:
EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) tumbled by 0.83% to hit EGP 11.99.
Citadel Capital:
Citadel Capital (CCAP.CA)'s stock inched lower by 0.24% to reach EGP 4.13.
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding:
Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) jumped by 7.55% to hit EGP 0.57.
Orascom Telecom Holding:
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) inched higher by 0.28% to reach EGP 3.58.
