Chic et Pratique(CP) is a distinguished modern furniture store located in Mohandessin, that is supremely capable of revitalizing the décor of your home. The name of the store does not only reflect the show room's furniture designs, but also its concept of offering the most efficient service to customers.
Mohsen Shaker, the owner and managing director of CP, explained the symbolic meaning of his store's name saying, “We are eager to be chic in dealing with our clients, to entice chic customers who really appreciate our work as well as to come up with practical, durable models at reasonable prices in order to cater to a broad spectrum of clients.”
Chic et Practiquefurniture collections are made of wood, such as American oak and zan wood, and other natural materials. However, all items are locally produced. “This is what really distinguishes our products from others on the market. It is a concept that I won't ever change. Egypt is a well-known furniture producer, so why would I look to the other countries?”
According to the owner, the store provides the highest quality of finish along with reasonable prices in comparison to similar work on the market. “On the Egyptian market you can either find cheap, poor quality imported furniture, or high quality furniture brands which are just not affordable for a large segment of Egyptian society,” Shaker explained.
CP uses sophisticated stylish modern designs that are characterized by being simple and innovative. “We are a combination of the modern and classical patterns. Ultra modern furniture is beautifully designed, but is not comfortable and practical enough for daily use.” CP uses foreign designs adapted for clients' attitude and the Egyptian market.
Moreover, the store also specializes in custom-made furniture, aiming to satisfy all clients' tastes. “Some clients are interested in specific designs, so we let them select the desired fabrics, colors, dimensions and we take care of the rest.” Samer said. “We also produce classic models to order.”
Besides furniture for all the rooms in the house, CP specializes in more unusual items such as sofas, fauteuils, chaise lounge and love seats. In addition to these, CP supplies imported accessories including chandeliers, lamps, vases, and mirrors from China, the Far East and Europe.
The showroom was officially opened in March 2008, but Shaker and his wife had already been working this field since 2003. “We produced a lot of work for close friends and acquaintances before opening the store. Then, I decided to take it more seriously, so I quit my job as an export and business development manager for a huge multinational company in order to focus more on my private business.” Shaker is planning to open another branch in 2011, but hasn't decided on the location yet.
CP's popularity depends mainly on word of mouth. “I am very proud that our reputation is the main means of the growth of our success,” explaining, “sticking to deadlines and giving guarantees about the work we customize is the reason we are able to gain the trust of customers.” He added that the prominent location of the shop at the center of Mohandessin is another reason for its popularity.
